The **Smith & Wesson 1122655 set** consists of a fixed knife and a pocket knife. The set comes in a beautiful tin storage box, featuring an American flag and Smith & Wesson's logo.

The pocket knife is a solid pocket knife for an affordable price. You open it with the thumb stud and then a solid frame lock blocks it to prevent it from closing unintentionally. 

The fixed knife is slightly larger than the pocket knife, and it offers excellent grip. Interestingly, the plastic handle of both knives have the same width. This broad handle feels nice in hand and offers great grip.

The blades of the two knives are made from 8CR13MoV steel. This is a stainless steel that is easy to sharpen.

Wat hebben we:

2 volkomen functionele middelgrote messen, 1 vast en 1 linerlock. Afwerking is voldoende met lompe grepen van modderkleurig plastic en een aura van instant goedkoopheid. 

De foto’s hebben niets daarvan verhuld. Ik kreeg wat ik had gezien.

Toch ben ik mild teleurgesteld. De omschrijving bij dit mes gaf aan dat er sprake was van 8Cr13MoV. Dat is bijna goed. Slechts 1 verschilletje, die 8 moet een 3 zijn en grappig genoeg is dat verschil van 5 ook geldig voor de hardheid op de Rockwell schaal. Derhalve mijn milde ongenoegen. 8Cr is bovengemiddeld en 3Cr acht ik een beetje beneden de maat. Misschien geen pisbakkenstaal maar wel een staalsoort die je kan verwachten bij de souvenierwinkel in een Egyptisch snorkelressort. Pisbakkenstaal is overigens wel extreem resistent tegen roest

De matige hardheid wordt natuurlijk wel gecompenseerd door een hogere taaiheid en een groter slijpgemak. 2 messen voor 30 euri is geen reden voor beklag. Vandaar dat ik ze niet heb geretourneerd.

Ik mot niet zeuren.

Toch wel even gedaan maar mocht je gaan backpacken in Cambodja en geen zin hebben om veel bagage terug te nemen, dit is een ideale aankoop.
