The **Spyderco Hanan C227GP** is an exclusive gentleman's knife, designed by Brad Southard. This stunning pocket knife is the third in a line of collaborations between Brad Southard and Spyderco. Other knives from this line are the popular Spyderco Southard and Positron. Like its two predecessors the Hanan is enhanced with the organic flowing lines we have seen before on Southard's other designs.



The interesting aspect of the Hanan is that the design looks a lot like the handmade knives from Brad Southard, but with a clear Spyderco twist. The Hanan is namely enhanced with Spyderco's famous Compression Lock and the characterizing Spydie-hole: the hole in the blade. The quality is also as we have grown accustomed to from Spyderco's Taichung Taiwan factory. The way the black G10 of the handle merges with the titanium bolster is sublime. The Compression Lock was also integrated into the handle with a lot of precision and doesn't interrupt the flowing lines of the design. You open the Hanan with the flipper after which you can also easily close it thanks to the ball bearings.



The blade is just as great as the rest of the knife. Spyderco used CPM S30V steel for the blade. A rock-solid type of steel that is often used in the knife world. The stonewashed finish on the blade is lightly polished and looks very fancy. The first thing you notice when you open the Hanan is the large recurve in the blade. This is also a characterizing design choice we often see in Brad Southard's designs for his handmade knives. This curve in the blade is perfect when cutting through rope or other tough materials.



An interesting detail is the unique pocket clip. It was specifically made for this knife and ensures you can easily combine the Hanan with a neat outfit. The subtle pocket clip namely doesn't stand out when you attach it to your fancy trousers. In short, the Spyderco Hanan is a stunning gentleman's knife, perfect for daily tasks!
