The SOG-13-11-04-43 Adventurer Lb  3.5&quot; Blade  5cr15mov  Dusk Purple + Black is a cool EDC knife in the colour purple. With its blade length of 7.6 cm, this knife is suitable for daily cutting tasks. For example, opening boxes, peeling an apple, the odd job around the house: this pocket knife can do it all.



Opening the SOG-13-11-04-43 Adventurer Lb  3.5&quot; Blade  5cr15mov  Dusk Purple + Black one-handed is very easy thanks to the thumb stud. Once opened, the sturdy back lock ensures that the blade is locked and won't accidentally close during use. The back-lock mechanism is one of the oldest yet strongest locking mechanisms.



## Blade made of 5Cr15MoV steel
The blade is made of 5Cr15MoV. That sounds like quite the mouthful, but it's actually simple. It is a stainless steel, it is easy to sharpen, it offers good sharpness retention and, above all, it's budget-friendly. This is the Chinese variant of the well-known German chef's knife steel X50CrMoV15 which is used by the biggest German chef's knife brands.



## Handle made of FRN

The handle of the SOG-13-11-04-43 Adventurer Lb  3.5&quot; Blade  5cr15mov  Dusk Purple + Black is made of FRN and measures 10.4 cm in length. FRN stands for *Fibre-Reinforced Nylon*. That makes it a type of plastic made from nylon, and reinforced with glass fibres for additional strength and durability. FRN is also known as GFN.



## About SOG Knives
SOG is a knife brand with a rich history. SOG means ‘Studies and Observation Group’, referring to a unit in the US army that carried out covert operations in Vietnam. For this specialised work in the jungle, they needed reliable knives. With reproductions of MACV-SOG knives, Spencer Frazer started SOG knives in 1986.

Since then, SOG has grown into a tough, all-round knife brand. Fixed blades, pocket knives, multi-tools: SOG has it all. Today, production is partly done in Asia, and partly in the United States.
