Water bottles, sports bottles and drinking bottles
A good water bottle lasts for years and keeps your drink at the right temperature. This range includes stainless steel bottles, from slim 350 ml bottles to one-and-a-half-litre flasks, with and without double walls.
How do you choose the right water bottle?
Choose a water bottle based on what you put in it and how long you need it to stay at the right temperature.
- Single-walled or double-walled. Most of this range is double-walled: two layers of steel with a vacuum between them, keeping your coffee warm and your water cold. Single-walled bottles are lighter and cheaper, and work well if you only fill them with tap water.
- Size. Around 500 ml is a handy size for travelling and fits most cup holders. For a day outdoors or at the office, choose 800 ml to one litre. Below 350 ml, you'll mostly find tumblers and mugs.
- With or without a filter. Some bottles have a built-in water filter, so you can drink from a stream or an unfamiliar tap. Handy when travelling or hiking, but unnecessary if you refill at home.
- Check the cap. You can drink from a sports cap without unscrewing it, a leakproof screw cap is safe in your bag, and a wide opening makes it easier to add ice cubes.
Stanley and Klean Kanteen make up most of the range: Stanley with its classic vacuum flasks, Klean Kanteen with bottles made from 18/8 stainless steel. You'll also find YETI, LifeStraw filter bottles and Le Creuset.
Reusable drinking bottles: environmentally friendly
An unimaginable amount of plastic ends up in our environment. Fortunately we can get rid of a part of that amount by banishing plastic bottles. How? Simple. Purchase a reusable water bottle and stop using plastic bottles. And let’s be honest, it is always a good idea to have a bottle of water with you as it means you don’t have to purchase a new one every time you go out. As a result you not only save the environment, you also save some money!
