EDC pouches and gear organizers: all your important gear neatly stored
An EDC pouch is a compact pouch for organising the gear you always carry: your multi-tool, a torch with a spare battery, paracord and a lighter. Everything stays together, so you can find it straight away.
Features of EDC pouches
An EDC pouch is small, sturdy and made for everyday carry. Most of the pouches in this range are made from Cordura, a nylon fabric that stands up well to abrasion and moisture, with a zip or hook-and-loop fastener closure.
Inside, you'll usually find elastic loops and separate compartments. Everything has its place, so you don't need to rummage around.
How do you choose the best pouch?
Start with what you need to carry. Lay your gear on the table, measure the largest item and choose a size that fits. A pouch that's just too small will stay at home.
- Organiser or open compartment. A pocket organiser has fixed loops for your pen, torch and multi-tool. A tac pouch or dump pouch has one open space for whatever you put in it.
- Check how it attaches. Most models here have MOLLE straps that thread through the loops on a tactical backpack or your belt. There are also models with a belt loop, and small ones with a hook-and-loop fastener for use inside a larger bag.
- Material affects weight and wear resistance. Cordura 1000D is the toughest; 500D and 700D are lighter and fold away more easily. X-Pac is water-repellent and exceptionally light.
- Soft gear belongs in a stuff sack. Roll it down to the size you need: handy for clothing and a sleeping bag.
Tasmanian Tiger, Savotta and Maxpedition make up most of this range. The first two offer modular pouches for your backpack; Maxpedition makes organisers for your pocket or bag. For something sleeker for everyday use, take a look at Alpaka Gear.

Why do things the hard way?
You can carry the EDC pouch over your shoulder with a shoulder strap. But you can also attach it to a MOLLE compatible backpack with the MOLLE system, or to your belt. Or why not put it inside your backpack? That will work too!
