## PUMA: German tradition and years of knowledge with a wide range

PUMA is an old, German knife brand. They have been producing knives from Solingen in Germany for over 250 years. They are renowned for their rock-solid, traditional hunting knives. Ever since 2003 they also produce kitchen knives and modern pocket knives. These are a part of special knife collections that are produced worldwide. To stay true to their German history PUMA came up with a great concept. The design process and the quality check namely still take place at the main offices. As such the journey of each knife starts and ends in Solingen, Germany.


## A knife brand with over 250 years of history

PUMA's story begins in 1769, when Johann Lauterjung registers his trademark in Solingen, Germany. For a long time the company is run by the Lauterjung family. In 1876 PUMA starts producing pocket knives and stilletos. Around 1936 the company is placed under the authority of the German regime for the war industry. After the liberation in 1946 PUMA's focus shifts back to the civil market. In 1956 PUMA designs its most famous knife, the White Hunter. Ever since PUMA has continued to develop and innovate and introduced a completely new collection in 2003: the PUMA IP. A collaboration with large knife factories spread out all over the world. It is the first time this German knife brand crosses its borders into international territory.

The **PUMA** kitchen knives are made by hand from top-quality materials. The blades are made from German, stainless or Japanese damascus steel. The handles are made from different types of wood, amongst which pakka wood. This popular material is comprised of multiple layers of birchwood that are coloured and compressed under high pressure. For its IP kitchen knife collection PUMA chose a fancy, dark brown colour. Combined with the VG10 damascus steel you are left with a stunning kitchen knife collection that fits in every kitchen.
