Fabric and tailor's scissors
Tailor's or fabric scissors are, in terms of design, different from other types of scissors. The two eyes are often asymmetrical. The elongated eye is hold at the bottom when you use it. This enables you to move the scissors over a long piece of fabric. In addition, fabric scissors have a slightly sharper edge to make sure you won't get caught in the fabric.
Keeping this in mind we only sell top-quality scissors such as those made by Zwilling. After all, we want to make sure you don’t have to throw valuable fabric away because the scissors caused irreparable damage to it. For that reason we advise you to invest in a good pair of scissors instead of selecting a cheaper version which can no longer be used after only a couple of times.
In addition, it is important to realize that fabric scissors are called that for a reason. If you purchase a good pair of fabric scissors you should never store it in your kitchen drawer. Before you know it you accidentally use the pair to cut a piece of paper which can definitely affect the edge. The same applies to regular kitchen scissors, but the effects with fabric scissors are much bigger because it is sharpened at a much smaller angle making the edge narrower and therefore more vulnerable. Tailor’s scissors are truly only meant to cut fabrics.
