Why DPx Gear?
DPx Gear knives are developed for the most diverse environments, from urban EDC situations to expeditions in remote areas. Characteristic of the brand are the heavy-duty steel grades such as D2, Sleipner, and CPM MagnaCut. Handle materials can consist of high-quality titanium and aluminium. The majority of DPx Gear knives are manufactured by the well-known Italian company LionSteel. As a result, you will find the LionSteel Rotoblock on some DPx knives, for example: the locking mechanism that turns a pocket knife into almost a fixed-blade knife. Moreover, this has led to a number of interesting international collaborations, combining Italian craftsmanship with high-quality steel grades from various countries, such as the Austrian Böhler M390.
DPx Gear series
The HEST concept (Hostile Environment Survival Tool) emerged from the practical experience of Robert Young Pelton: a knife that not only excels as a cutting tool but also features practical aids for emergency situations and daily use. You could therefore call this knife the showpiece of DPx Gear.
DPx HEST Original fixed knife
The DPx HEST Original is the fixed knife upon which DPx Gear's reputation is built. In addition to a substantial 5 mm thick blade, the knife features an integrated wire stripper, bottle opener, and pry bar. Moreover, the hollow handle scales form a hidden storage compartment in which, for example, tinder or an emergency banknote can be carried.
DPx HEST/F pocket knife
The DPx HEST/F is the pocket knife in the well-known HEST series and was designed as the compact sibling of the HEST Original. The back of the handle is equipped with a glass breaker, which can be replaced by a supplied smooth screw. A bottle opener is integrated into the back of the blade. Just like the HEST Original, the HEST/F has jimping on the back of the blade, which also functions as a wire stripper. The lanyard eyelet is also an integrated hex bit driver, allowing the use of standard screw bits (¼ inch) for small repairs and jobs on the go.
DPx Aculus pocket knife
The DPx Gear Aculus is a robust and elegant gentleman's knife, designed as a reliable EDC for intensive daily use. The Aculus distinguishes itself through the sleek, harmonious profile of the blade together with the textured handle. A distinctive feature of the Aculus is the construction of the handle shells. Whereas most pocket knives use multiple attachment points, the handle scales of the Aculus are mounted with just two screws.
