Nontron pocket knives: revival of the oldest French pocket knife

Coutellerie Nontronnaise has been producing pocket knives ever since the 16th century in the French village of Nontron. As such Nontron is the oldest, still existing knife brand in France. Like before, these knives are still produced by hand. Characterizing for a Nontron knife is the reversed V-symbol. Burned in the wooden handle with the help of pyrography. The reversed V is an old and mysterious symbol of which the origin is unknown. Regardless of its historical significance, the charm of a Nontron knife is absolutely timeless!
