However, we do sell butterfly knife trainers - these trainers have unsharpened blades so you can flip safely.

Knife laws in Ireland

In Ireland the law states that you are guilty of an offence is you carry 'In a public place, any knife or other article which has a blade or is sharply pointed'. This includes a simple Opinel knife or a Leatherman that contains a blade. But also a broken bottle or pair of scissors.

If, however, you have a good reason for carrying a knife in public you are legally allowed to do so. Examples of good reasons for carrying a knife are if you use it for work (if you are, for instance, a carpenter), as part of a national costume or for recreational purposes. In this case EDC is not a valid reason for carrying a knife in public. Please consult the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act 1990 for more information.
